Job background
The CDP Global Finance Team, responsible for "Grant Reporting & Accounting," manages all aspects of grant reporting operations for funding received globally. This includes financial grant reporting, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, managing audits, and maintaining accurate accounting records .

The working student will support the Grant Reporting & Accounting team in ensuring the effective financial management of CDP’s global grant funding. Based in Germany, the role is designed to assist with key operational tasks, including data entry, financial analysis, and compliance checks, while gaining hands-on experience in grant accounting and reporting. The position aims to provide valuable support to the team’s mission of ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance in CDP's grant-related financial activities.  
The role includes
  • Provide general administrative support to the Grant Reporting & Accounting team as needed. 
  • Assist with the preparation of documentation for grant audits and reviews. 
  • Support managing and maintaining accurate timesheet records for grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with reporting guidelines. 
  • Provide support for timesheet administration, including reviewing submissions, resolving discrepancies, and generating reports for grant compliance purposes. 
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for global grants, ensuring accuracy and alignment with donor requirements. 
  • Assist with grant accounting postings within CDP’s finance system
  • Support the tracking and reconciliation of grant budgets, expenditures, and forecasts. 
  • Conduct data entry and verification to maintain accurate financial records in grant reporting systems. 
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with financial grant agreements and audit requirements. 
  • Perform administrative financial tasks for grants 
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on grant management best practices. 
The successful candidate should have
  • Enrolled in a university programme, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 
  • The position is based in Berlin
  • Good analytical and numerical skills. 
  • Good IT skills, including knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel. 
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Effective communication skills in English; German is a plus. 
  • Interest in grants and funding is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and dynamic team environment, adapting to changing priorities and cultural diversity.

Further information
The successful candidate can work flexible hours per week taking into consideration the examination schedule. Possibility to work full-time during summer break. This working student role is based at our office in Berlin, Germany.
